The Anomaly
Prix Goncourt Winner 2020
This novel won the Prix Goncourt, and I admit I expected it to be more literary than it was. But what I got instead was what I also like: a smart novel with a theme that is very interesting.
Is this a sci-fi novel, a mystery, or maybe a philosophical novel?
I don’t like to use spoilers in my reviews, but... [spolier] A plane lands twice (this is not clear until about 50% of the novel, so that is a spoiler for me), and suddenly, we have replicas of all the passengers and the crew. How do those duplicates handle the situation? Who is the original, and who is the copy? Who has more rights than the other? [/spoiler] Interesting questions and situations occur all the time.
