Stories of a Life

Stories of a Life is a heartbreaking coming-of-age story of Natasha. It's a story of her difficult childhood, her complicated relationship with her family, especially her mother and stepfather Sasha. Her childhood and teen years were marked by a series of abuses. Brutally honest and often written in a funny way.

This is a memoir novel, and the author originally wrote it as a series of Facebook posts. Stories of Life is a quick read, and I would recommend it to readers who like different, postmodern novels and those who often read something to do with the #metoo movement.

This quote from one of the reviews says it all:

“The author, in general, is not trying to shock, she is simply not afraid to say. But this simultaneous openness and ruthlessness strikes with unexpected force and long action. Leads the reader out of their comfort zone. Makes him an involuntary and seemingly guilty observer." ––Elena Makeenko, Gorky Media
